Frequently asked questions

What is pet health insurance?

It helps you cover veterinary costs if your pet suffers an illness or accident. Otherwise, you would have to pay these costs yourself.

Which breeds is it available for?

We offer the policy for numerous breeds, both mixed and pedigree, since no animal is immune to illness or accidents.

When should I take it out?

The earlier, the better: this way waiting periods end sooner and you avoid being left without cover if your pet becomes ill or ages.

Can I choose my own vet?

Yes, the choice of veterinarian or clinic is entirely up to you.

Is the insurance valid abroad?

Yes, although reimbursement is limited to what would apply to a veterinarian in your country of residence, according to the official fee schedule.

Do pre-existing conditions affect the policy?

Yes. Certain pre-existing conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, allergies or joint dysplasia can exclude coverage if they were known before signing the policy.
